This means that we can not accept students who are more that 15 minutes late for any class. For multiple week series attendance on the first day of class is mandatory. POTTERY WHEEL - PARENT & CHILD

Ages: 4 to 8 with parent
Fee: $28 per wheel**
This class is designed for the parent/child team to work together on the a wheel using 1.5 lbs of clay to create a unique piece of their own. In the 45 minutes of class the instructor will give you a step-by-step demonstration, you get your own hands-on experience working together with clay on the wheel, and you can choose one of your small creations to be fired for you. Then you can return to paint it in a week.
**Ages 4-8 years will partner with a parent on the wheel. Minimum ages are non-negotiable.
Ages: 9-12 years
Fee: $52 per student.
Includes all materials, tools and firing.
These two week sessions are the perfect starting class for kids 9-12 who want to try out the potters wheel. Week 1 will learn the basics of wheel throwing and week 2 we will glaze the pieces. Kids are encouraged to take multiple sessions to hone their skills.

Teen Clay Club
Fee $65 per student (includes 4lbs of clay)

This relaxed clay learning club is a great opportunity for young potters to learn new skills and make new friends. At the start of each three week session potters will have the choice between a handful of projects to learn and will then have the opportunity to work at their own pace through each project elaborating as they go. Students are strongly encouraged to take multiple sessions in a row to complete their larger projects and advance their skills. Wheel throwing and sculpting instruction included.

This three week class is designed to give you a strong start in the basics of the potter's wheel - no prior wheel experience necessary. You will experience the whole process of pottery creation from the clump of clay to shiny glazed masterpiece. Each class includes demonstrations, a hands-on instructor, 10 lbs of clay, the use of tools and glazes, kiln firings of your creations, and four open studio drop-in practice sessions during the class session.

This intensive version of our wheel 101 class is for beginner to intermediate potters who want to learn more than one project and dive deep into a strong skills set on the potters wheel that will give them way great to continue to work on their own! This class includes 4 open studio drop-in practice sessions, 20lbs of clay, as well as the 15 hours of inclass time with our Kiln Master.

Looking for the next step after you have taken pottery 101? This workshop is for you! You don’t have to be a master, just understand the basics of clay to take this class and learn more techniques that anyone can use to improve their work and grow. Designed for our ceramics studio members as well as potters in our community; the class starts with an intensive demo workshop on the topic listed and then leaves time for students to ask questions, talk about projects they are working on, have a round table discussion and talk shop.
August 11: Build a Bird. Intro to handsculpting and its applications.
We will learn to build a 3-D bird sculpture in this class while talking about the principles of hand building, sculpting and how to apply it to other works.
September 8: Off the Hump, Heavy Weight Wheel throwing
We will talk all about working with larger weights of clay, demo how to wedge center and throw of a hump to make work faster. We will also cover chip and dippers, how to assemble or throw solid and how to make really tall things using multiple cylinders.
October 6: Wheel Throwing a Closed Form: Mushroom making and Jack’o Lanterns.
November 10: Glazing party!
We will learn how to use vynal decals, resist decoration, glaze penciles, silk screens and a special use of gold luster. We recommend having some glaze fired pieces and unglazed bisque ware to expirement on!
December 8: Slab rolling and Building: Plates, trays, bowls and more.
We will learn how to use the slab roller and extruder. How to make a flat chunk of clay into a beautiful form without the wheel!

Fee: $30 per person
New & Experienced students invited to fire up with Megan. Bring your own bisque pottery to fire (5inx5inx5in max, includes one piece. $5 for each additional paid day of) or buy a piece off our shelves at 10% discount day of the event.

Open Clay Lab use is not permitted without prior experience in clay or multiple lessons/class.
