OWNER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Welcome to our Studio! We thrive on being a fun place for all to come and create! After graduating from Beavercreek High School I started to attend art classes on my way to be an art teacher and found myself incorporating business and training classes to one day open a Studio that helped local artists and the residents create together. We opened our doors in 2012, grew to a bigger location in 2013, was awarded Young Professional of the Year by the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce for 2014, the Better Business Bureau’s Eclipse Integrity Award in 2015 and have been growing with the community since. Currently I am serving as a commissioner for the Beavercreek Township Park’s District, on the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Director of Infusion Art of Miami Valley and Co-Founder/Co-Chair of ArtFest. I greatly enjoy helping many of the fantastic organizations around Greene County that serve our community, students and small businesses.
Graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Leadership and an Associates of Liberal Arts focused in Fine Arts & Sculpture. Contributor & Organizer for community art shows and projects that lead to better quality of life for those in our community... because that is what it is all about!

STUDIO MANAGER & KILN MASTER
Megan has been working in ceramics, painting and sculpture since 2004 when she started the ceramics program at Southern State Community Collage in southern Ohio. From there she studied ceramics at Northern Kentucky University and completed her BFA in sculpture at Wright State University. Sharing art with others is the passion that brought her to Decoy in 2013 when she joined the team to lead the clay studio. She is oversees and runs all the kiln firings, helps develop classes, oversees operations and teaches wheel pottery and sculpture classes for all ages.
Megan also teaches ceramics at Stivers School for the Arts. Her passion for creating paintings, sculpture, ceramics and sharing art with everyone is driven by the belief that art is for everyone; that beauty is all around us, just waiting to be enjoyed. This is continually renewed by her work with students as well as playing all sorts of games and going on adventures with her two children. She exhibits her personal work regularly in the Dayton area and beyond.
Decoy gives me the opportunity to teach and inspire every type of artist. We get young aspiring artists which allows me to help their talents grow as individuals. I also have the pleasure of adding creativity and art to the lives of people the rarely get the time to create for themselves. There’s a miraculous fulfillment in both engagements. Decoy creates that mixture of studio and home that allows myself as an artist to work with the community as if I were teaching a friend. Fine Arts & Education from Antioch College (2000-2003) Former Ast. Manager at Kiln Time Pottery Café (2000-2003) and worked for Stivers School of the Arts. Exhibited and currently showing at the Goloka Gallery, Clash Dayton, Toxic Brew (main artist), Rosewood Gallery, Fairborn Better Business Bureau’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ Tour Artist (2007-2014). Mural artist with East End Community Center and other local organizations.
CLASSROOM MANAGER & RESIDENT INSTRUCTOR
I love Decoy; It's a wonderful place to explore an artistic idea or curiosity and get creative (and messy!) in a nurturing, positive environment! I received my Associates Degree of Art from Sinclair Community College were I became completely in love with drawing, particularly with pastels. The messier the better! I went on to explore my interests further at Wright State University where I received my Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting. I also love the color purple.
Kristin joined Decoy in 2013 with a brief hiatus to Baton Rouge. We are thrilled to have her and her amazing talents back in the Studio!
I am motivated and open minded. Art runs in my blood and I always have new projects to create. My daughter is my world and I love exploring the world with her. One wierd guilty pleasure I have is ketchup with grilled cheese! I went to school at Fenwick & Bellbrook and now am in my second year at Sinclair (art program). Art is my passion because of how it brings people together. That is why I really love Decoy Art Studio! It is more than just an open studio (it's really hard to find places like that). So that is why I am here! To be around fellow art lovers!
PARTY MASTER & OUTREACH COORDINATOR
Hello! I’m Abbey, and I love working here at Decoy. So much so, in fact, that I came back after a year and a half of living abroad! After graduating from Wright State, I accepted a job teaching preschool and elementary students in South Korea. It was such an amazing experience, and I learned how fun and inventive teaching could be. I’m thrilled to be back and surrounded by people who are excited about getting creative!
Kaylie joined the Decoy family in the Spring of 2016 as an apprentice to deepen her experience in the studio arts. When she is not in class at WSU for early education, you can probably find her in the studio helping our awesome guests.
Emily joined us in the Spring of 2016 as an apprentice to learn about studio operations, customer service, program instruction and to hone her own talents. Emily is a Beavercreek High School grad currently in the Animation program at OSU.
I find Decoy Art Studio is the perfect place to get away from the office and stimulate creativity. I share its mission to make art accessible for everyone. My dream is to bring adult teams into this innovative space so they can take their projects to the next level! I facilitate Wingman outings, team-building activities, training workshops and office parties held at Decoy Art Studio. Personally, I enjoy throwing pottery and coming up with unusual ideas that make people think differently. If you see me at the Studio, say hello and tell me about your dreams!
Teresa is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) who enjoys leading workshops on communications, emotional intelligence, team-building, project management skills, and the Enneagram. She has facilitated meetings across military, contractor, business, and educational environments. She earned a Bachelor's degree from Kenyon College and a Master's degree from the University of London, SOAS.
CANVAS PAINTING PARTY INSTRUCTOR
It is very inspiring to see people try their hand at art and to be a part of a community of professionals that all work together to introduce art to both adults and children. The constant growth of the studio is exciting to witness. I have a Bachelors in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting from Xavier University 1987 and graduated Cum Laude on a full merit scholarship with a solo Thesis Show upon graduation. Have exhibited in San Francisco & Berkley, California and am commissioned for jewelry and custom artwork. Interior Designer by trade.
POTTERY & GLASS PAINTING INSTRUCTOR
Drawing and painting have felt like second nature to me, but I am always exploring other mediums or types of art. I LOVE learning new things! I ended up mixing my fine art experience with the graphic design world. I received an Associates of Visual Communications from Sinclair Community College (2004-2007) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Visual Communications concentration from University of Dayton (2007-2009). Currently, I am Co-Art Coordinator for the Dayton Sideshow and Secretary of Infusion Art of the Miami Valley. My own artwork has been in some local and national shows. I now create various designs for Decoy, including the Studio Guide, but I also teach the adult pottery and glass painting classes. To see a student's excitement over what they have learned no matter their age makes my heart smile, and I adore the creative environment that Decoy provides. We welcome you to the studio, whether you are a beginner or professional, because there are many opportunities to learn new skills!
Rachael - the Sidekick of all Sidekicks! - It is my belief that everyone is creative, they just need the right outlet - and that's why I love working at Decoy! I have a background in fine arts and graduated from Sinclair Community College in 2012 from their Liberal Arts program with a focus in sculpture. I am a fiber artist, working primarily in needle felting, and I love creating needle felt dolls, characters, and sculptures.
